A small practice built around careful work
Riverlith exists to help product teams think more clearly at moments that matter. We do not scale. We take on a limited number of engagements at any one time.
Back to HomeHow Riverlith came to be
Riverlith started from a recurring observation: product teams often know what they need to do, but find it difficult to think clearly about it from the inside. The closer a team is to its own work, the harder it becomes to see the assumptions that are shaping the decisions.
The practice was established in Singapore with the intention of offering a particular kind of engagement — one that is bounded, written, and independent. Not ongoing advisory work, and not a workshop facilitated by a large firm. Something closer in character to a careful second opinion from someone who has no stake in a particular outcome.
The name Riverlith refers to the sedimentary formations that build up quietly and hold their shape. It describes the kind of work we try to do: incremental, deliberate, and made to last beyond the engagement itself.
What we are here to do
Riverlith's role is to help a product team produce a clearer picture of what it is doing and why — before committing significant time or resources to a direction. This is not strategic planning in the conventional sense. It is closer to the work of making the implicit explicit.
We believe the most useful input is often not a recommendation, but a well-organised summary of what is already known, what is being assumed, and where the current plan is thinner than the team realises.
Riverlith takes on a small number of engagements each quarter. This is by design. The work requires attention, and attention cannot be spread across dozens of clients.
Who you work with
Daniel Lim
Principal Consultant
Has worked across product teams in Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific region for over twelve years. Focuses primarily on product framing and roadmap structure. Leads all client engagements directly.
Siti Chandra
Research & Documentation Lead
Manages the written outputs for discovery sprints and roadmap reviews. Has a background in qualitative research and brings rigour to how assumptions are documented and structured.
Rajan Nair
Client Liaison
Handles initial enquiries and scheduling. Ensures the administrative side of each engagement runs without adding unnecessary overhead for the client team.
Operating standards
Written deliverables
Every engagement ends with a document the team retains and acts on independently. Verbal-only outputs are not part of how Riverlith works.
Strict confidentiality
Client information — documents, strategy discussions, internal context — is not referenced in external communications and is not retained after the engagement closes.
Defined engagement scope
Each engagement has a clear start, end, and set of outputs. There are no open-ended arrangements that expand without a new agreement.
Independence of view
Riverlith does not hold equity positions, referral arrangements, or preferred supplier relationships that might influence the advice given.
Data handling
Personal data collected through enquiries is handled in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act and processed only for the purposes of responding to client engagements.
Honest scope
If a request falls outside what Riverlith can address well, we say so. We do not accept engagements where we are not the right fit for what the team needs.
Product strategy consulting in Singapore
Riverlith operates as a product strategy consulting practice serving small product teams across Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region. The work spans three core engagement types: structured discovery sprints that help teams frame new initiatives before committing to a build plan; roadmap reviews that examine how a team is distributing its attention across near-term and longer-horizon work; and monthly sounding-board arrangements for product leads who want a private, outside perspective on their thinking.
The practice draws on over a decade of experience working with product-led organisations across technology, financial services, and professional services. The engagements are designed to be self-contained: the goal is always for the team to leave with something they can use, without dependency on a continuing relationship with Riverlith.
Singapore's product ecosystem — particularly in fintech, enterprise software, and consumer technology — produces a particular kind of challenge: teams that are technically capable but time-poor, operating under planning cycles that do not leave much room for deliberate reflection. Riverlith's engagements are sized to fit that context. They are not small consulting projects designed to grow into larger ones. They are short, focused, and documented.
