Benefits of working with Riverlith
— why riverlith

The advantages of working with a practice built for this

Riverlith is not a large consultancy offering product strategy as one of many services. It is a focused practice that does one thing — and has shaped every aspect of its work around doing it well.

What you get, consistently

Written output every time

No engagement ends with a conversation. There is always a document — formatted, editable, and yours to use without Riverlith.

Bounded duration

Two weeks, three weeks, or one month. Engagements are scoped in advance and do not extend without a fresh agreement.

Published pricing

S$190, S$610, or S$890. The price is on the website. There is no quoting process, no variable billing, no surprises.

Direct access to the consultant

You work with the same person from first contact to final deliverable. No junior involvement, no account coordination layer.

Confidentiality by default

Client engagements are not referenced externally. Shared documents are not retained. There is no case study built from your work.

No dependency created

The purpose of each engagement is to leave the team able to proceed without Riverlith. We are not building a recurring relationship.

— expertise

Over a decade in product teams

The consultant behind Riverlith has worked inside and alongside product teams across technology, financial services, and professional services for more than twelve years. That experience spans the full range of common situations: teams that are over-planned and under-focused, teams that are building before they have understood the problem, and teams whose roadmaps are technically coherent but strategically unclear.

This breadth matters because the patterns across industries are more similar than most teams expect, and recognising them quickly is most of the work.

What this means for you

  • Patterns identified in the first call, not at the end of week three
  • No time spent on orientation that should have been done before the engagement started
  • Familiarity with Singapore's regulatory and business context for product teams

— process

A method that produces usable documents

Riverlith's engagements follow a structured approach, but the structure exists to serve the output — not to fill time. A discovery sprint moves through stakeholder interviews, assumption mapping, and a discovery plan. A roadmap review moves through balance analysis, sequencing alternatives, and a clarity assessment. The steps are known in advance and do not shift during the engagement.

The documents produced are written to be understood by the team without a debrief. If a debrief is needed, the document has not been written clearly enough.

What this means for you

  • Predictable flow — you know what is happening each week
  • Documents your team can use, share, and build on internally
  • No scope creep, because scope was agreed before the work began

— value

Pricing that does not require a proposal

Most consulting arrangements begin with a scoping process that can itself take weeks and generates no value for the client. Riverlith's engagements are priced and described on the website. The conversation moves directly from fit assessment to start date.

S$190 for a discovery sprint. S$610 for a roadmap review. S$890 per month for a sounding-board arrangement. There is no pricing that depends on company size, urgency, or negotiation.

What this means for you

  • No budget approval process needed for a discovery sprint at S$190
  • Finance teams do not need to engage with an estimation process
  • Comparison between engagements is straightforward

— what sets us apart

The features that do not appear in most proposals

No upselling

Riverlith does not offer a full consulting practice behind the initial engagement. There is no larger scope to be sold into. If a different type of support is needed, we will say so and point you toward it.

A limited client list by choice

Riverlith takes on a small number of engagements at any one time. This is not a staffing constraint — it is a quality constraint. Engagements receive full attention, not divided attention.

Honest fit assessment

If the initial message describes something Riverlith is not well-placed to address, we say so promptly. We would rather decline early than proceed with an engagement that does not serve the team well.

Discovery plans you own completely

The discovery plan produced in a sprint is designed to be carried out by the team without further involvement from Riverlith. There is no follow-on engagement required to use it.
